Significant Changes and Updates

Immediate Delete Payment Endpoint

We’ve added a new API endpoint to manually delete payment data immediately: DELETE /payments/{payment_id}

Enable Banking only stores the minimum amount of payment data required for the technical functioning of our TPP Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS). During payment initiation, some sensitive information, such as debtor and creditor names and account numbers, is processed, which constitutes personally identifiable information (PII).

Payment authorisation data is automatically deleted within 15 minutes of initiation, while other payment-related data is retained and deleted according to each TPP’s configured retention policies. These automated processes support data minimisation, but they may not be sufficient when a payment service user exercises their right to have personal data erased under GDPR.

With this endpoint, you can permanently remove all payment data related to a user from our systems, bypassing the standard retention policy. The payment and all associated data are permanently removed from our systems. This ensures TPPs can fully comply with GDPR requirements, while providing a flexible,privacy-first approach to handling payment data deletion requests.

Consent Validity Default Extended to 180 days

Our default consent validity for ASPSPs was previously 90 days. As more ASPSPs have adopted 180-day consent periods, we’ve updated our systems to support this standard. With the extended validity now widely implemented under PSD2, all our integrations now default to 180 days.
